2025-2026 Volunteer Opportunities
Hough PTSA is a 100% volunteer-run organization. We rely on volunteers from the community, student's family members, and even students to help plan, organize, and execute all of our events and programs.
Become a Volunteer
VPS requires all daytime volunteers (while school is in session) to be an approved volunteer. The process is simple and quick, and the approval is good for two years. It ensures you are eligible to help at school events, on field trips, in the classroom, etc.
For PTSA-led events held after school hours, pre-approval is not required. We love our volunteers!
Are you interested in helping plan an event or program? Join a Committee!
Committees are where all the discussions are had about the planning and execution of events; everything from theme and snacks to sponsors and donations. Open committees include Winter Wonderland, Staff Appreciation, Movie Night, Mileage Club, and Spirit Wear, Carnival, Fundraising, and Yearbook. You can join any time! Interested in joining or learning more? Send us a message.
We encourage each family to try and volunteer at least once during the year. Even one hour of your time can make a huge impact. Volunteering is fun and you get to meet new Hough families!

Volunteers will help decorate the school, transforming it into a winter wonderland, plus help with crafts, food, and games.

Volunteers will transform the gymnasium into a holiday bazaar, help students shop, and assist with gift wrapping.

Reading Mentors
September - June
ReadNW needs volunteers to do weekly 1-on-1 reading mentorships with Hough students! Training and supplies are provided, and sessions take 30 minutes or less.
Lunch Buddies
September - June
The Hough Foundation's Lunch Buddy Program provides weekly one-on-one lunch time mentors for students. Sessions are 45 minutes, once a week.
